Below are answers to some common questions about Hulu subscription billing:

How do I access my Account?

To view your account details, including your billing history and payment information, please visit here. If you are trying to make changes to your billing but do not see a Your Subscription section on your account page, or the section prompts you to Renew Your Subscription, you may be logged in with the wrong email address.

I'm having trouble logging into or locating my account

If you are running into issues logging in, visit here, where you can request a password reset email. If you're still unable to log in, please contact our Viewer Experience team. When you do write in, the following information will be super helpful for us:

  • Your first and last name, as well as any other names that could be on the account
  • Any email addresses you may have signed up with, including those attached to a PayPal, Roku, iTunes, or Amazon account
  • The last four digits of the card being charged (if you have a joint account or multiple cards linked to the same statement, please include the last four digits of those cards as well – please do not send full card numbers though)
  • Your billing address and ZIP code (if you've moved recently, please send both your old and new address)
  • The number you see on your bank statement directly after HLU*HULU

I'm seeing monthly charges, why can't I access my Hulu subscription?

If you see Hulu charges on your statement, but do not have access to Hulu subscription content or cannot see any billing information on your account page, you are likely logged in to a basic Hulu.com account (not to be confused with a Hulu subscription on a free trial). Please log out, then log in with the correct Hulu credentials. If you're not sure which email your subscription is linked to, you can find out here.

How do I select an Add-on?

For current subscribers, you can select an Add-on through the site account page or through the Hulu app on select devices. To select an Add-on online, visit the Your Subscription section of your account page. Select "Add-ons" to adjust your subscription settings.

When selecting your new Add-on, you will be charged a prorated amount for the remainder of your billing cycle. Your bill will reflect the full amount of your next billing charge, which includes your Hulu base plan and any Add-ons.

To adjust your subscription settings through the Hulu web account page:

  • Visit your account page at hulu.com/account

  • Select Manage under Add-ons to adjust your subscription settings

  • Select On under No Commercials or SHOWTIME if you want to add any of them to your subscription.

  • Confirm by selecting Continue and then Update Subscription

For more information about the No Commercials Add-on, please visit here. To know more about SHOWTIME, read this article.

How do I remove an Add-on?

To remove an Add-on from your subscription, please visit hulu.com/account. Select Add-ons to adjust your subscription settings. You will continue having access to your Add-on for the remainder of your current billing cycle, but will not be charged at the start of your next billing cycle.

I don't remember signing up for Hulu, why am I being charged?

If you are seeing charges from Hulu on your bank statement, but don't remember signing up yourself, it's likely a family member did so using your information. If you're still having trouble, please contact our Viewer Experience team and include details about the dates and the amounts of the charges. The following information will help us locate the charges as well.

What are these authorization charges on my bank statement?

If you've recently signed up for a Hulu subscription or entered your billing information on our site, you may see an authorization hold on your statement. Not to worry, this is just an authorization to confirm the billing information recently submitted for your Hulu account. This hold is instantly reversed and is never collected by Hulu. Authorization hold amounts can very based on region or by card issuer - These charges will direct you to hulu.com/auth from your statement. For additional information about these holds, please visit here

I just signed up for a free trial today, why was I charged?

Traditionally, we only allow one free trial per user each year. When you enter information that has already been used for a free trial of Hulu, our system will give you a warning to let you know you are not eligible for another trial. If you proceed with the signup process, the trial will be bypassed, and you'll be charged for a Hulu subscription and put on a paid subscription plan.

Why am I seeing two charges on my statement?

If you've recently selected an Add-on for your subscription, you may see two charges for Hulu - one charge for your previous billing period and a second prorated charge for your new Add-on.

If you are seeing more than one of the same monthly charge from Hulu, it is likely that you have two open subscriptions under different email addresses. To locate the secondary account, visit this page and enter the card number(s) being charged. If you need any assistance, please contact us, including the last four digits of the card being charged, the number listed after HLU*HULU PLUS on your billing statement, as well as the email addresses attached to the accounts.

Why was I charged tax?

We are legally required to collect tax for certain jurisdictions. We have set prices for a Hulu subscription or any Premium Add-ons, but based on your billing ZIP code, your city/county may apply an additional tax.

I deleted the Hulu app. Why am I still being charged?

In order to stop Hulu subscription charges, the subscription must be fully canceled online or over the phone. Deleting the app on your device will not cancel your subscription. To make sure you will no longer be charged, follow the directions here.
