If you are experiencing stuttering or choppy playback with the Hulu mobile app, we first recommend performing a speed test of your connection. You can download the speedtest.net mobile app from the App Store here. Once the test is complete, compare the results against our requirements. When available, we also recommend streaming over Wi-Fi instead of 3G.
If your speed test results exceed our requirements, here are some general tips that may help:
Turn off your iPad and let it sit for at least 15 seconds before turning it back on.
Clear the Hulu app's temporary files - On the left of the Hulu app, tap the Menu button > Gear icon > Settings > Temporary Files > Clear temporary files.
Force quit the app - Go to your Home screen and double-click your Home button to bring up the multi-task tray. If you're running iOS 6 or earlier, hold your finger on the Hulu app until it starts wiggling. Tap the red button above its icon, and then tap your Home button again to finish. On iOS 7, swipe up on the Hulu screenshot until it disappears and then tap the home button to finish.
Uninstall the Hulu app and redownload it from the App Store - From your Home screen, tap and hold the Hulu app until it starts wiggling and a small X appears in its upper left corner. Tap the app again and press Delete. Search for Hulu in the App Store and click on the cloud icon to redownload. Once the download is complete, tap Open to reopen Hulu.
Make sure that your iPad is updated to the latest version of iOS - From your home screen tap Settings > General > Software Update. We recommend using iOS 9.0 and above.
Reset your network settings (be sure you know your network's name and password – you'll have to re-enter this information) - Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
