New to the No Commercials plan

Can I watch Hulu without commercials?

For the first time, Hulu subscribers now have the ability to watch shows and movies without commercials breaks. If you want to watch Hulu without commercials, we offer a No Commercials plan for $11.99/month. Our Limited Commercials plan, available for $7.99/month, includes a modest amount of commercials. It’s easy to switch your plan at any time through your account page or sign up by visiting hulu.com/start

Add SHOWTIME® to your subscription to enjoy instant access to award-winning original programming as well as exclusive Hollywood blockbusters – all commercial free regardless of your base Hulu plan. The SHOWTIME Premium Add-on costs an additional $8.99/month.

How much does the No Commercials plan cost?

The No Commercials plan costs $11.99/month, with the option to add the SHOWTIME Premium Add-on for an additional $8.99/month. If you sign up on an iOS device (iPads and iPhones) and pay for your Hulu subscription with your iTunes account, there is an additional charge due to transaction costs associated with Apple. The cost of the No Commercials plan when you sign up on an iOS device is $13.99/month.

Can I watch the No Commercials plan on all of my Hulu devices?

Yes. For subscribers on the No Commercials plan, you can watch commercial-free playback on any of your Hulu devices. For devices that don't have access to plan switching or signup, you can visit your account page online to manage your subscription settings. For a full list of devices that support Hulu playback, please visit here.

What is the difference between the Limited Commercials and No Commercials plans?

Hulu now gives you a choice of two plans: Limited Commercials (our existing $7.99 plan) and our new No Commercials plan. With either plan, you’ll get the same access to our library of TV shows and movies. Additionally, you can sign up for the SHOWTIME® Premium Add-on with either subscription plan.

The difference between the two plans is that, with the Limited Commercials plan, your videos will have a certain number of commercials. (You’ll notice it’s still fewer than broadcast TV.) This plan currently costs $7.99/month.

With our No Commercials plan, you’ll be able to enjoy your videos completely commercial free, with a few exceptions that are explained here. This plan currently costs $11.99/month.

You’ll have the same access to your shows on your favorites devices with either plan.

What happened to Hulu Plus?

Your Hulu subscription is exactly the same as what we used to call a Hulu Plus subscription. Same full access to our library. Same great experience. Same access across all your devices.

When we first launched a subscription service, we called it Hulu Plus to differentiate it from the free Hulu service. We gradually realized that everyone just called us “Hulu.” It’s as simple as that. Although we offer different services, like our Premium Add-ons, and different plans across different access points, we will always stand behind the quality of our services under one name - Hulu.

Shows and movies on the No Commercials plan

Will all shows and movies be commercial free?

In response to feedback from our viewers, we started offering a commercial free experience on Hulu. For a small number of shows, however, we have not obtained the rights to stream commercial free and they are not included in our No Commercials plan. You can still easily access these shows with a short commercial before and after each episode with no interruptions during the episode. Specific shows that still have commercials accessible through the No Commercials plan will be noted throughout the signup, switching and playback experience. While the list of shows may change, they are currently: Grey’s Anatomy, Once Upon a Time, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Scandal, Grimm, New Girl, and How To Get Away With Murder.

I'm a subscriber on the No Commercials plan and I've connected my pay-TV provider, why do I still see commercials?

For Hulu subscribers who have authenticated with their pay-TV provider on Hulu.com, shows that are not part of the Hulu subscription service will still have commercial breaks. While rare, it's important to note that not all shows on Hulu.com are a part of the Hulu subscription – A good example of this is Suits.

To qualify for next-day viewing for certain content from the cable networks of FOX, NBCU, and ABC Networks, you must be an authenticated subscriber from a supported pay-TV provider. To see if your current pay-TV provider supports authentication, please visit (hulu.com/authenticate) for a complete list. Additionally, these shows are available on desktop only, and are not available through Hulu-enabled devices.

Please visit this help article for more information about authenticated content on Hulu.
