The Hulu (No Ads) plan lets you watch the majority of the Hulu streaming library without any ad interruptions.
Depending on your plan, you may have access to additional content (example: live TV or Premium networks) that you wouldn’t get through the Hulu streaming library. Any content that isn’t part of the Hulu library may still have ads.
If you have Hulu (No Ads) and you’re unsure if you should be seeing ads, there are some things to keep in mind:
You’re watching one of the excluded shows
There are currently seven shows from the Hulu library that are not covered by the Hulu (No Ads) plan. The good news is that if you have Hulu (No Ads), episodes from these shows will still stream uninterrupted –– a short ad break will play before and after each episode.
You’re watching live TV
Similar to traditional broadcast television, live channels that you get with your Hulu + Live TV subscription will include ad breaks. If you subscribe to Hulu (No Ads) + Live TV, this will not impact ads that play during live programming.
You’re watching a DVR recording
If you record something live, the same ad breaks that played during the live stream will show up in the recording. Although Hulu (No Ads) won’t impact your DVR, you can add Enhanced Cloud DVR to your plan and fast-forward through ad-breaks.
If you subscribe to Hulu + Live TV, you get access to additional on-demand movies and shows that are otherwise not available with the other plans. These movies and shows are provided directly by the networks (hence ‘network on demand’). Since network on demand isn’t part of the Hulu streaming library, Hulu (No Ads) won’t apply to this content.
You’re watching Premium content
If you subscribe to any Premium add-ons (Cinemax, HBO, SHOWTIME, or STARZ), content available through these networks may play a brief ad before your programs begin. Since Premium networks aren’t part of the Hulu streaming library, Hulu (No Ads) won’t impact network ads.
